Kyndred: Where Care Meets Community
Introducing Kyndred:
Healthcare for Black Women by Black Women
We are beyond excited to announce the launch of Kyndred, the first virtual comprehensive sexual and reproductive health clinic for Black women, launching in 2025. Kyndred is our response to the urgent call for healthcare that is not just reactive, but proactive, transformative, and deeply rooted in community. Kyndred is a revolution in care, a holistic health home designed to center Black women at every stage of their health journey. It is a place where our experiences, our pain, and our needs are heard and respected. Where healthcare is race-concordant, patient-led, and culturally responsive.
The Journey to Kyndred
A Story of Empowerment, Revolution, and Community Care
In 2017,we set out on a mission to support women and youth-serving organizations by delivering culturally attuned comprehensive sex education to Black women and girls.
We knew that for far too long, our community had been neglected by mainstream healthcare and education. Across the country, what began as a mission to educate and empower Black women and girls with knowledge about their sexual health quickly grew into a transformative movement.
Then, in 2020, the world—and healthcare as we knew it—changed forever. The inequities exposed in healthcare weren't new, but the pandemic made them impossible to ignore. So, we pivoted, becoming a digital health platform and company that could reach those who were most at risk of falling through the cracks of a fractured and overburdened system.
In 2022,You Made History with Us
Then something incredible happened—our vision for transforming sexual wellness for Black women met the unwavering support of a community that believed in us. Through our crowdfunding campaign, over 150 people came together in just two months to help us raise enough to expand and scale our digital platform. We were overwhelmed with gratitude and driven by your belief in us. Your support proved that Black women’s sexual and reproductive health matters and deserves a seat at the table.
Through your support, we launched our online workshops; our audio and visual blog series PEPA; a free library of sexual and reproductive health resources, the Feel Good Collective; our forthcoming care companion, Sugar; and launched Paps on Tap, our signature event series combining happy hour vibes with sexual health education. These became gatherings of Black women reclaiming their space in the healthcare conversation, they had things to say and we were ready to listen.
Listening, Learning, and Building Something Different
In 2024,we took a step back and listened in deeper to our community.
Black women voiced a need for holistic, culturally affirming sexual and reproductive healthcare—care that went beyond the limitations of the current system and acknowledged the unique needs of our bodies and our lives.

There was a glaring gap in the sexual and reproductive healthcare landscape, and it was clear that Black women deserved something different. We knew we had to create a solution.
Enter Tesiah Coleman, MSN, AGPCNP-BC, WHNP-BC, CLC, the Chief Clinical Officer of Kyndred. Tesiah’s leadership will guide Kyndred in revolutionizing the healthcare experience for Black women, setting a new standard for comprehensive, culturally responsive, evidence-based care. As co-founders, we are united in a shared vision to not just support Black women, but to finally get them the care, consideration, and community they deserve.
“My dream sexual wellness space and clinic feels like my grandmother's home. There was nothing that could not be healed with a salve of some sort. I could come as I was, be nurtured, and encouraged to continue on with my head held high. I am excited for a space like this to exist for us as I've felt I have had to piece meal my medical experiences and still end up feeling short changed, silenced, and unfulfilled that I am getting holistic care that is in alignment with my identity and experiences as a black queer femme.”

Redesigning Care, Centering Us
Black women face some of the most profound disparities in sexual and reproductive health, from sexually transmitted infections, cervical cancer, uterine fibroids, maternal morbidity and mortality, and restrictions to accessing abortion healthcare. These challenges are compounded by implicit bias, which makes it difficult for us to trust a healthcare system that too often dismisses our pain. But at Kyndred, we are rewriting that narrative.
We believe that anything designed can be redesigned. The healthcare system, as it stands, has never been designed with us in mind. But Kyndred is and will be different. This is Black woman-centered care at its finest—a model where our voices lead, and our choices are celebrated.
In 2025,Kyndred will launch in New York, California, and the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia), with plans to expand beyond to meet Black women where they are and where they need us most.
Serving as the holistic health home for Black women, Kyndred will provide a range of services—from full spectrum sexual wellness and reproductive health to integrated mental health care, focusing on transforming health outcomes for Black women across their lifespan.
